Heart disease and stroke account for two spots in the top five causes of death in America. That is pretty serious stuff. The American Heart Association works hard to save lives affected by cardiovascular related illness.
Over the weekend, they held their 16th annual Heart Ball in Windham, NH. The money that was raised goes towards research to end heart disease and stroke.

One speaker at the event comes from New Hampshire and is a senior here at UNH. Matt Keene went into sudden cardiac arrest during football practice while he was in high school. Fortunately, there was an AED (automated external defibrilator) available and he was saved.
