Thayer Street Festival Combines Music, Food and Booze For A Good Time

It’s time for the annual Thayer Street Festival and Rhode Islander’s couldn’t be more excited. It’s a time where irresistible smells linger down the streets while music can be heard for miles. The festival runs this Saturday and Sunday so get your Cinco de Mayo gear ready and you game face on.

This year the bands include the World Premier Band, Spogga, Something Else, Kulprits, Travis Colby, Mr. Breeze and Benjamin Roadhouse.

Restaurants will be participating in food and drink specials that you just can’t ignore. Some of the best of the list include Katabar, Paragon, Johnny Rockets and Shark Bar and Grill.

ID’s will be checked at each entrance and wristbands will be given out to those who are lucky enough to be 21+. The only liquor that’s provided will be beer, sangria and pre-mixed margaritas but hey, who can really complain about that.

This year the festival will be running from 11AM to 11PM despite the 1AM rumor. Tickets are $15 and this is something students shouldn’t miss.

The area of the event will extend from CVS down to below Tedeschi market with all streets in between those roads blocked. So have a little pregame and head down if only to enjoy the music and great company.
