SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
This past thirsty Thursday my roommates, a few friends and I hit up college hotspot The Greatest Bar. Lucky for us it was eighties night! Naturally we got all dressed up in bright colors, spandex, off the shoulder sweatshirts, crimped side pony-tails and leotards. OK, maybe we were one of two groups of people dressed up in the bar, but we really didn't care. The bartenders all had fake mullets on and the waitresses clad in aviators and graphic sweatshirts.
However, the night would never be the same with out the 80's cover band Fast Times. They honestly rocked like it was 1987... a sincere hot tub time machine moment.
Best part of the night (closely beating out my best friend wearing only a leotard, no pants, dancing on the bar) was when we all noticed Fast Times' number one fan outside the windows having the time of his life. His name is Bob. He's probably homeless, but I've never seen a happier man in my life.
Apparently, he trails them to every appearance and just parties outside.
Check out the video for evidence.
Statement from Fast Times.. about Bobby:
"Bobby is a homeless guy who frequents the bars around Faneuil Hall and I didn't know he got down around the Garden as well. He's actually one of few homeless guys who is pretty nice and he never begs for money or anything. You can always tell if there is a decent band playing if you see Bobby dancing outside the window! He doesn't necessarily follow us but if he sees us playing he hangs out dancing all night until they ask him to leave which most places don't bother him. He makes frequent appearances at our Live Band Karaoke night at Hennessy's on Wednesday nights as well, another night you may want to check out!"
No exaggeration... Bob brought me to the verge of tears.
