SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
Last Saturday was a day of celebration for Florida State fans. We watched our Noles dominate in the ACC opener against Wake Forest with a 52-0 victory. We also learned that Tallahassee will play host for some special guests next weekend.
That’s right college football fans. “College GameDay” is coming to Florida State. ESPN analyst, Kirk Herbstriet, confirmed the rumor Saturday night.

This will be GameDay’s second appearance in Tallahassee in two years. According to FSU, Herbstreit and the rest of the crew will be filming, once again, by the Unconquered Statue on Langford Green outside Doak S. Campbell Stadium.
“We’re happy to have ESPN’s College GameDay coming to Tallahassee,” FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said. “It’s going to be a great game and great atmosphere next weekend and having ‘GameDay’ here will add to that. Having that big game … it’s one of the reasons our players come to Florida State and our fans show up. Creating that atmosphere is one of the best things about college football.”
After embarrassing Wake Forest on the field, the Seminoles moved up one spot in the top 25 AP rankings Sunday morning. This is the highest the team has been ranked since October 9, 2005 - the last time they won the ACC Championship.
GameDay filming starts at 9:00 a.m. and will be shown on ESPNU before the main ESPN channel takes over at 10:00 a.m. Parking lots on FSU’s campus will be open for tailgating at 8:00 a.m (keg ‘n eggs anyone?).
If you’re not in Tally for the big game then 1) I pity you and 2) make sure to tune in as no. 4 Florida State battles (and hopefully defeats) no. 10 Clemson Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
