Joe Paterno is no longer major college football’s winningest coach.
As part of the punishment from the sexual abuse scandal, Penn State is forced to vacate their victories from the 1998-2011 seasons which leaves Paterno with a career record of 298-136-3.
Prior to being stripped of the 111 victories, Paterno’s record was 409-136-3.

Bobby Bowden, former Florida State coach, is now major college football’s winningest coach. Bowden has a career record of 377-129-4.
Bowden, who was close friends with Paterno, heard the news Monday morning. Ann Bowden, his wife, had this to say, “He’s not happy about what happened to Penn State and he’s not happy that Joe’s wins are being taken away.”
