Currently 37 Golden Bears Qualified For 2012 Olympics
It doesn’t take an athletics expert to notice that Cal’s football team hasn’t been all that successful in recent years past. However, that’s not to say that Berkeley doesn’t boast some amazing athletes.
Cal women’s soccer player Alex Morgan rose to stardom with her excellent performance in the Women’s World Cup in 2011. Now this year, she and 36 (so far!) other Golden Bear athletes will be competing in the London Olympics.
A plurality of the athletes that have qualified are swimmers, though most are not swimming on behalf of Team USA (sigh). For a complete list of the Cal athletes that have qualified so far, with updates as the qualifying rounds continue, CLICK HERE.
