With the NBA draft shortly approaching; it's looking like the 2012 draft will have some serious fire-power with a lot of star potential in the making.

Let's start with the seven foot standout out of Kentucky. Yes not too much of a shock but Anthony Davis is at the top of every list at this point. This guy will be able to impact the NBA with his ability to dominate games defensively and also offensively with his height, athleticism, and length. This guy has a 7'6" wingspan is only 19 years old. Right now he is projected to go the Hornets who could use a dominate big man in New Orleans especially with the departure of star guard, Chris Paul.
Who's at number 2 pick? Chad Ford from ESPN has Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at this spot. Maybe a bit surprising but let's not forget, the Wildcats tend to have at least three to five NBA prospects a year. Gilchrist is an all around swingman. He can shoot, drive, rebound, and defend, all key factors you must have to be an elite small forward in the league especially when competing against King James, Melo, and Durant on a daily basis. The Wizards are expected to draft Gilchrist with the second overall pick.
The number three pick isn't a very popular name but how about Bradley Beal out of Florida? Sources saying he has a jump shot like Ray Allen? Well, that's an eye grabber, Beal is a guy that can create his own shot and played a Princeton kind of offense. I expect him to have a Jimmer Frederette kind of role this year. He is also expected to get drafted to Cleveland to help out Kyrie Irving in the backcourt.
This next guy is a stud. Thomas Robinson is NBA ready, standing 6'9 about 250 pounds, with skill and excellent footwork in the paint. He may need to work on his defense but I expect him to be a solid NBA player.
Last but not least we got Andre Drummond out of UCONN. Not much to elaborate on here but the guy is 7'0 and a great defensive player. Not as good as Anthony Davis but just as effective in many ways. Expect this guy to average about two to three blocks a game in the league.
The NBA draft goes down on Thursday, June 28, so be on the lookout for these big names.
