CNN reported yesterday that President Obama has finally admitted that he openly supports gay marriage.
"At a certain point I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married," Obama told ABC news.
“Obama once opposed same-sex marriage. He later indicated his views were "evolving." His announcement Wednesday in support of same-sex marriage was the first by a sitting president.”, said CNN.
ABC said that although Obama said that he believes that each state should be deciding on issues independently, he was ‘disappointed’ with North Carolina’s recent decision to ban same sex marriage, and said that it was explicitly discriminatory towards American gays and lesbians.
The president also admitted that his main squeeze, first lady Michelle, played a main role in converting him to pro-gay marriage. "This is something that, you know, we've talked about over the years and she, you know, she feels the same way, she feels the same way that I do," he said.

This clearly puts Obama at odds with Mitt Romney, who, like too many, still opposes gay marriage. Since Obama's announcement, Mitt has reiterated he does not believe or support gay marriage.
The real question is- when are politicians going to realize that all people are humans, and that we all deserve equal rights?
