A research paper out of New Zealand was released this week, predicting that by the year 2050, the sex industry will be predominantly populated by lifelike sex robots. While this sounds like something from weird Battlestar Galactica fanfiction written by a horny teenager, the benefits are undeniable. Sex robots would allow for safe, disease-free sex, and also help erradicate the sex trade.
“In 2050, Amsterdam's red light district will all be about android prostitutes who are clean of sexual transmitted infections. All androids are made of bacteria-resistant fiber ... guaranteeing no sexually transmitted diseases are transferred between consumers."
