Oh, how we all love the Mexican army for their victorious win over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Since that glorious day Americans have used it as an excuse to drink, dance and wave colorful pieces of fabric in the air. 

Assuming you know how to have fun, you will either be throwing or attending a fiesta where drinks will be a requirement. Here are some creative and delicious ideas so you can keep your taste buds entertained. 

Easy Squeezy Grapefruit Sangria

Take 4 cups grapefruit juice, 3 cups Riesling wine and 11/2 cups diet ginger ale and combine them in a large pitcher.  Slice up some fruit of your choice and throw them on into that pitcher and serve over ice. Talk about refreshing, my mouth is already watering. 

The Perfect Pomegranate Margarita Martini 

Combine 1 ½ cups pomegranate juice, 2 ounces of lemon flavored vodka, 1 ounce of tequila, a splash of limejuice and ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake, shake, shake for exactly one verse of the Macarena and pour into a cocktail glass. If you really want to be fancy you should rim the glass with a lime wedge and then dip it in sugar. 

Cool Off With A Cucumber Cooler

In hopes that this year the holiday will fall on a beautiful sunny day, you are going to need to cool off with a Cucumber Cooler. In a blender combine 1 cup peeled cucumber, 1 ounce silver or white tequila, 1 teaspoon agave syrup, 1 tablespoon chopped mint leaves and 1 cup ice. Blend until pureed (until it looks drinkable). Now just pour it into a tall glass and garnish it with a lime wedge. 

This is a low-cal favorite since it has only 110 calories and 0 grams of fat. Save those calories for the quesadillas, tacos and guacamole your going to be chowing down on.
