Many Still See Obama As Muslim

We all remember when Obama ran for president and how his name strikingly resembled that of Osama Bin Laden… or, how his birth certificate seemed (or still may seem) altered. Well, the jokes about Obama being Muslim just keep piling on and he can’t seem to shake the critics.

Here is a perfect example of what is found on YouTube if you just search Obama:

Now clearly this video is not really Obama speaking, however its a clear representation of my point.

This election season is no exception and is hurting him among the Republican voters (no big surprise). About half of Mississippi and Alabama voters still believe he is Muslim. In addition to this, a not-so-shocking one in four people believe that his parent’s interracial marriage should have been illegal, according to polls.

Obviously anti-Obama activists have and are still trying to achieve and enforce the idea that Obama is a “secret Muslim”, but apparently they have already succeeded. Even with Obama’ s team trying to contest claims, 20 percent of Americans proceeded to think he was Muslim back in the 2008 election, according to a University of Georgia poll. The belief that Obama is Muslim still hasn’t subsided four years later.

With the 2012 Election in full swing, Obama, even though it must hurt to be seen as something he may or may not be, probably won’t suffer horribly from these accusations. Even though Alabama and Mississippi are questioning Obama’s identity and while some don’t support interracial marriage, it doesn’t mean they don’t favor a man with infidelity issues…Yes, Newt Gingrich.

Basically, hearing this made me think a lot about how I perceive our president, which is something I really never took the time to think about. Yes, I can say I feel he isn’t planning an attack on this country even though no being led out of this current economic crisis quickly, seems attack enough. I also believe that anyone qualified has the right to attempt the U.S presidency, so in retrospect his ethnic origin shouldn’t really matter, right? I think in the end, it does. What if our president was lying to us?

Do you see our president as a Muslim?
