SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
This year if your plans for break are non-existent and you’re stuck in Hometown, USA, here are a few ways to make the best of it!

1.) Manage your sleep schedule- If you’re a morning person, get up early and go enjoy your day with a cup of coffee and an early morning jog. Then plan the rest of your day so you’re doing something every few hours. If you’re a night owl like me, sleep as long as possible to avoid maximum boredom. Casually roll out of bed for lunch/brunch time and start your day slowly. Your goal: find plans for the night!
2.) Make a to do list- Make a list of assignments or goals you want to accomplish over break, and try to get one thing done every day. If you have lame break plans, at least you can say you’ve been productive and be ahead of all your friends who had fun plans!
3.) Leave your house- Avoid going stir-crazy by going out for at least an hour a day. I’m a fan of cruises with no destination, but with gas-prices, I’ve had to cut back on those. When you set out for the day, make it count!

4.) Go outside- Of course, this is weather dependent, but if it’s nice out, get your work done outside and get some color on your skin! Not only is it healthy, but if you close your eyes you can almost pretend you’re on the beach instead of your front lawn.
5.) Spend time with your family- You’re only home every so often, so make sure you actually talk to the people you live with! Set aside time for family dinners and catch up before it’s time to go back to school!
i feel like a to do list is key for me... but forget about the sleep schedule. that just gets worse and worse by the day
