SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
If you haven’t heard of Tom Raper yet than you either live under a rock or are a full blown non-American. Tom Raper is the personification of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. Bringing back the roots of what PBR was founded upon, Raper idealizes every aspect of stereotypical American lifestyles.
From despising foreign countries, to harping on so-called American beers that have sold their companies to foreign entities, Raper certainly portrays a nationalistic persona, all the while wearing a button up of Old Glory herself.
The beer Tom Raper promotes is of course Pabst Blue Ribbon, a beer that in recent years has made a substantial revival. However, the revival has come in the form of a hipster revolution, mainly within the surfer and snowboarding realms of culture. Pabst does not openly endorse the hipster revival as it tries to remain the face of old school America. On the other hand, the revival cannot be ignored by Pabst.
Testimonial by Tom Raper cannot be ignored either. From hearing his rambling about who should be allowed to drink the beer, you begin to hop on the PBR bandwagon. So follow Raper’s advice and “Drink it, Y’asshole.”
