Between juggling the country's astronimcal debt, handling foregin policy and gearing up for the this year's presidential election, Barack Obama has quite a bit on his plate at the moment. But he be adding reality tv star to his itinerary?

"American Idol" head honcho Nigel Lythgoe has invited Obama to come on the show and sing a duet with Al Green. Apparently Lythgoe was just as impressed with the president's stirring rendition of Green's "Let's Stay Together" as the rest of us were. Lythgoe was so impressed he tweeted "We loved your vocal performance so much we'd love to invite you on to American Idol this season for a duet with Al Green."

While I admit I would love to see Barry flex those golden pipes again, I sincerely hope that singing on American Idol' is nowhere near the top of the President of the United States' to-do-list.
