Michelle Obama has always appeared to be pretty nice to me. She's well dressed and has a smile on most of the time. But I guess she's been taking some heat as "some kind of angry black woman" from New York Times reporter, Jodi Kantor, in a recent book that is said to be a look behind the scenes of the First Family.

The book claims that Michelle often fights with Mr. President's advisers and has complained about life in The White House. Any anxiety she has stems from raising Malia and Sasha and insuring this doesn't change them for the worse. If there are other disagreements it is between the staff of the East Wing and the staff of the West Wing, never herself and one person. That's how it goes in my house too.
Kantor describes Michelle as an "unrecognized force" when it comes to getting her husband goals fulfilled. But she denounces this fact during an interview with CBS's Gayle King by explaining that even though she is one of his biggest confidants, obviously, she doesn't sit in on the meetings. I wouldn't either because they are probably long and boring.
Neither Mr. or Mrs. President were interviewed for the book and Michelle states she doesn't even read the things people publish about her or their lives. Good idea. Plus who would have the time to read all that? I mean, she's probably a bit busy since it's election season.
"I just hope that over time, that people get to know me" says Michelle. There may not be much more time for that with the way Romney's getting states.
