SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.

It’s finally here: the URI Basketball season of 2011-2012 has finally arrived and we are starting out hard. Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 15th, you can watch our beloved Rams take on Texas, on ESPN at 4 p.m. This will be a great chance to see if we can perform on a national stage, in front of millions. To say that I am not excited for this game would be like saying Tom Cruise wasn’t excited, when he jumped all over Oprah Winfrey’s couch. This game is a must see for Rhody fans.
Despite losing our first game to George Mason, my expectation for a team that has lost a lot of talent, is still positive and rising. The overtime thriller saw Jamal Wilson drop 38 points. The senior had a previous career high of just 14 points, leaving many spectators stunned that he had this ability. Along with Jamal Wilson was also a preview of what we can expect from some of the freshman, who contributed significantly. This upcoming game will, however, be an ever bigger and harder test for the Rams, but it is looking good.
Tune in on ESPN tomorrow and enjoy some real college basketball, now that the NBA lockout seems eternal. Go Rams!
