Scavenger hunts are awesome, but hasn’t it been about 15 years since you’ve done one?
In Boston on May 7, you’ll have your shot again. The Great Urban Race is this massive pseudo-scavenger hunt that spans the world—it started in February in Australia and ends in Louisiana in October. When the Race comes to Boston in May (!) you and your teammate can enter and compete.

Basically The Great Urban Race is a giant chance to run all over a city and do weird and fun things. You get 12 clues, and they range from intellectual ones to ones like paddle boating. The site features some likely clues, and they’re your general scavenger hunt ones—but they’re definitely more intricate and fun-oriented than generic ones.
You can even be a “St. Jude Hero” and register to benefit St. Jude’s. At this point in time, registration ranges from $50 to $70 per person, depending on when you do it. Yeah, it’s sort of expensive; but it costs as much as a night out at clubs, and it seems a pretty sweet way to kick off the summer. Plus, if you’re a “St. Jude Hero,” it’s for a great cause.
Now we just better get ready to race…
