SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
Summer is right around the corner and in Colorado that only means one thing: outdoor concerts. Colorado has one of the best music scenes in the country and the best venues to match. Check out my article I did on the scene back in August:
All of these concerts will be held at my favorite venue of all time, the Red Rocks Ampitheatre:
Bassnectar: June 1st and 2nd- Bassnectar is one of the most cutting-edge dubstep artists out right now. He collaborates almost every music genre into bass wobbling, thumping mixes. The natural ambience of Red Rocks works great with this artist's superfluous use of bass it bounces off the surrounding rocks creating a great effect. He has remixed music from the likes of Ellie Goulding, KRS-One, STS 9, RJD2.
STS 9: June 16th Everything you need to know right here:
Pretty Lights: August 17th and 18th Pretty Lights is one of my favorite performers. He mixes different genres of music into his own personal blends that come out amazing.

Lotus with special guests EOTO and Emancipator: September 8th
Lotus is similar to STS 9, but a lot more electronic. The group formed in 1999 and quickly built a dedicated fan base. They play varied instrumentals that combine jam band and dance electronic. Check out their performance from Red Rocks last year

Don't know much about EOTO but I did a story about Emancipator that you can check out here:
Hope to see you guys out there this summer!
