Great Eats at KKD

You know the feeling. You’ve been studying (and/or partying and/or fighting the subterranean forces of evil bent on stealing your socks) and you get hungry -- really hungry. But it’s late and not many places are open. Where can you go that’ll get you something tasty fast? Well, there are a lot, actually. But for now let’s focus on Kountry Kart Deli. Open until 3 a.m, the Deli is a great place to hit for a late night snack. It’s located on Main Street next to the Flynn Theater and across from Cherry Hill Park. They also deliver (at an extra cost for the extra lazy) and you can order online here.

At its core, Kountry Kart Deli (better known as KKD) is a sandwich shop. That means steaks, burgers, and of course, sandwiches. The biggest standout on the menu is the ‘Rise and Shiner’ that hits you with eggs, cheese, hash browns, and your choice of meat of a toasted sub roll. Good for early morning or late night. Actually, scratch that – good for whenever you are hungry in the slightest. The cheese steaks at KKD are also fantastic.

Now, tasty food is great and all, but what good is it if it’s slow? You have places to go, people to see. That’s all fine because KKD gives pretty fast service. For a small order, you can be in and out in a little over five minutes. For larger ones, it might take up to ten. Either way, it’s not too shabby.

The main failing of KKD is the price. It’s not terrible…if you get the smaller sizes. You can get smalls for around four to six bucks. Anything bigger, or anything more than just a sandwich is gonna run you closer to eight or nine dollars. Now, unless you’re way richer than I am, that’s not exactly something that’s affordable on an everyday basis. KKD’s does have sandwich cards – buy ten sandwiches, get one free. Not something to actively try to fill, but it’s nice to build up over time if you just get it stamped every time you’d being going anyway. A free meal is always cool.

Overall, KKD is a great place to grab a fast and tasty bite to eat. As long as you don’t go there every day, it’s not going to break the bank. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you get the chance.

I love that you include a link to the order form. Too funny.
