Rapper Jeu Green Rises From The Sea Of Snapbacks And Tube Socks

Jeu Green is a rising star who's roots are deeply tied with Boston and MA.

The 23-year-old grew up just outside of Boston in Stoughton, MA where he says he was a typical kid. Green played soccer and hockey, and was even a member of the Drama Club. However, it all changed when he started writing lines (in the 4th grade) to rap.

How did you come to making music and what was your first performance?

Been at this rap sh** for a while, wrote my first rap in 4th grade Health Class and haven't shut up since. I went to college at The New England Institute of Art for Audio. Got my degree, and buttload of student loans to payback.

Done a bunch of shows all over the New England, but by far the most memorable would have to be when I opened for Big Sean. Since he's one my favorite artists right now it just seemed too surreal at the time.

Where do you get your inspiration for your lyrics from?

Finding inspiration for my music usually comes from whatever's going on in my life at the moment. Most of the time I pick the beat before I write the lyrics, smoke something to open my mind, add Red Bull for wings and outcomes music.

How does Boston affect/influence your music?

For me, trying to make it as an artist from the Boston for area has been a giant obstacle. With there being so many "Rappers" in the small city, it makes it difficult to stand out in a sea full of snapbacks and tube socks. By maintaining a level of professionalism, setting my standards super high, and persevering through bullsh**, I'll be around for a little while.

If you could perform with any artist (living or dead) who would it be and why?

If I could perform with any artist living or dead, it would have to be the great Bob Marley. The way he captivated crowds of discontent with his music will never be matched again. And obviously to smoke a spliff.

If your music was the soundtrack to any movie, what would it be?

If my music were to be the soundtrack of a movie, mainly it's gotta be about overcoming obstacles when all odds are against you, its gotta be a classic that you could watch over and over again, some foolishness, partying, definitely with some sexy ladies wrestling in a tub of KY jelly, and meeting some dope friends along the way... I guess my music could be the soundtrack of "Old School." A movie my generation all grew up with.

What does the future of look like? Tour, shows, mixtapes, etc.

Gonna be dropping more videos for all original music throughout the summer. Def some upcoming shows and a lot more music to make.

Be sure to follow Green's success via Facebook and Twitter.
