SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
This writer is lucky enough to be completely done with school about a week before everyone else. Jealous? I’m sure.
Saying sayonara to UNH for the summer couldn’t feel better. Yes, the semester was great, but we all know how damn good it feels to finish that last test, that last paper. Seems about time to celebrate, yes?
A party of some kind is an easy way to celebrate the arrival of summer vacation. The thing is, we go to parties all year long. It’s the same kind of deal every weekend (or weekday, if you’re a perma-partier). It seems something special should be in order for the first summer party of the year.
Enter the Silent Disco.
Just as graduations and summer vacations are hitting, StumbleUpon led me to this amazing Boston-based company, Silent Storm Sound System. Perfect timing. Silent Storm offers a silent disco, which involves all the party-goers wearing wireless headsets that broadcast whatever the DJ is spinning. So while it may look like a bunch of people dancing to the music in their heads, it really is a bunch of people dancing to the music in their heads. Well, ears, actually.
SumoSkinny is already a big fan of Silent Storm and threw a silent disco a while back. Read more about that here. It was a smash, obviously.
Not only are silent discos loads of fun, location is extremely flexible. You could have this silent disco party just about anywhere, considering its lack of noisiness. Options include your parent’s house, an almost-empty dorm, or even a parking lot if the weather’s nice. Options are really endless.
If you’re serious about having an awesome post-semester party, visit the Silent Storm Sound System website here. Celebrate good times, c’mon.
