SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
I don't always go to social functions, but when I do, it's ROFLCon. Simply put: if you skip this event of the year, you're gonna have a bad time. Seriously, the sheer amount of internet celebrities that are scheduled to show up is staggering: The Old Spice Guy, Antoine Dodson, Alexis Ohanian, Scumbag Steve; the list is pretty endless.
For one weekend every two years, ROFLCon brought to you in part by PopSpot, lands in Cambridge, MA, bringing memes and viral videos to real world; basically the internet IRL. So what exactly is it? Straight from the founders' mouth: "Back in April 2008, we put on the original ROFLCon - the first internet culture conference devoted to discussing what makes memes work, why they work, and where it's all going (and then throwing a big ass rocking party with the internet celebs themselves)."
To give you an idea of what to expect, here's a clip with Christoper Poole, aka "m00t," the founder of 4chan.org.
The mania goes down May 4th and 5th, so hurry up and enter right MEOW. Simply check out PopSpot and tweet @thesumoskinny and @watchpopspot with your favorite viral video. The winners will be announced Thursday May 3rd at 10 PM.
If you're too excited and can't wait, buy tickets here now.
