Sorry Mom, Fitchburg Drug Bust Gone Bad

Do you know that “aah” feeling when you retreat into your warm bed after a long day to get some rest. Now imagine hearing someone with a chainsaw coming through your door fully armed while your child is in the next room. I know this sounds like a scene from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre but it was reality for this mother from Fitchburg, MA.

Last Thursday, Judy Sanchez woke up terrified to the sound of her front door being cut down with a chain saw and it only got worse when she was held at gunpoint for what “felt like a half hour." You would expect to hear the intruder was a robber or a serial killer, but no, it was just your fellow FBI agents raiding the wrong apartment. Sanchez lives in an apartment building and unfortunately her neighbor turned out to be suspected of dealing drugs and armed possession. The good news, if there is any in this horror story, is that the neighbor was apprehended and brought into custody.

What really makes my blood boil is that the three year old child who sat in the bedroom crying while her mother was held at gunpoint will forever be tormented by this memory. The Mother told FBI that the least they can do is pay for therapy. Ever since the incident the child wakes up screaming during naps, always expecting the worst. The FBI is charitable enough to replace the door and damages, but some damages can just not be reimbursed.

I’m left wondering since when do FBI agents use chainsaws to break down doors? I always imagined them breaking down my door the way that Elliot Stabler is able to kick doors down in one swift movement, but that’s a separate fantasy and I digress.
