A fluorescent sea of candy kids and twisted youth declared "Unity Thru Music" as they spilled into the gates of QuickTrip Park in Dallas, Texas for Meltdown Music Festival on Saturday, June 2.
Decorated by twin stages, the Bass and Main stage, the performers helped take the early arrivals feet to flight as the likes of Run DMT, Lucky Date, Camo & Krooked, Shiny Toy Guns, Dallas K, Krewella and more set the tempo. As night fell on the shuffling frenzy, Passion Pit, Sander Van Doorn, The M Machine, Feed Me and Supervision took the stage and helped paint the sky red before Flux Pavilion's and Pretty Lights early morning festival finale.
The "rave scene" guided by a simple acronym, P.L.U.R. or Peace, Love, Unity and Respect, has been gaining serious momentum over the last couple years. Especially in metropolitan areas like Dallas where some argue that one of the initial sparks that ignited this inferno we call the electronic dance music era.
With more and more solid foundation like Meltdown Music Festival being laid for the music genre, you can assume that this neon painted tribe of natives to be more than just a trend.
