Kome is definitely the hottest new sushi place in town. Located on Airport Boulevard, it's far from the yuppy downtown sushi places we are all familiar with and offers a completely different vibe. It's a small, intimitate space decorated in contemporary Japanese style, with bright colors and authentic Japanese craftsmanship. Both owned and operated by Takehiro and Kayo Asazu, the same couple that brought us the food trailer Sushi-A-Go-Go back in 2009, this place is legit.

Kome specializes in home-style Japanese cooking, way different from what you might find in other Japanese restaurants. The owners put in influences from other cuisines and cultures that reflect their backgrounds from living in Japan, New Orleans, and Austin. With an awesome sushi bar, a lunch and dinner menu, and Japanese drinks, this place needs to be your next stop when you're craving something a little different. You can find them at 4917 Airport Blvd, just don't show up on a Sunday, because they won't be there.
