A Spoonful of Sugar

Everyone’s heard the phrase, “Honesty is the best policy” and if you’ve been following along, you’ll know by now that sometimes I’ll advocate a little white lie here and there. But recently I’ve realized just how far a bit of honesty can take you.
We all want to be thought of as cool, confident and collected, but I think we’ve been overlooking the importance of showing a little vulnerability. Boys, this especially applies to you.

Now, I am by no means encouraging you to run around bawling your eyes out all day. There is most certainly a limit to how honest and vulnerable you should be and pouring your heart out in the beginning stages of a relationship is a sure-fire way to make that special someone deeply uncomfortable. However, if used correctly, a few honest tidbits can become your secret weapon of seduction.
How? Well, please allow me to explain with a personal anecdote.
Not too long ago, I was in the fun, flirty stages with a boy who will now, and forever, remain anonymous. About a month into the text conversations and the hanging out and the blah, blah, blah, we were talking about one thing or another when he started stumbling over his words. He stopped, smiled and said, “I just...you make me a little nervous.”
AND MY HEART MELTED INTO A BLOODY, SAPPY PUDDLE.
It was bashful and sweet and just about the most adorable thing anyone had ever said to me. If this boy didn’t already have me on the hook, let me tell you, that certainly sealed the deal.
After spending so much time trying to be tough, or macho, or whatever you may be attempting, showing even this tiny bit of insecurity can be incredibly telling. It lets the other person know that you feel comfortable enough to be that honest and it can help show a different side of your personality.
Not to mention it is hugely flattering to know you make someone nervous.
