Sad news out of Arkansas this morning, when tight end Garrett Uekman from Little Rock, was reportedly found dead in his dorm room.
According to Arkansas News, "The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at Washington Regional Medical Center on Sunday afternoon, according to the University of Arkansas. The cause of death is not immediately known, but Arkansas said more information would be released shortly."
Uekman's high school coach, Ellis Register told the AN, he was stunned to hear of the players passing, adding, “I “I didn’t get up out of my chair for 30 minutes. … It just goes to show you how really fragile life is. We can’t take anything for granted. He was so young, vibrant and strong. He had his whole future in front of him.”
Less then 24-hours before his death, Uekman, a redshirt freshman, played in Arkansas’ 44-17 win against Mississippi State.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates.
