SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
In surely the most shocking scandal to hit college sports in some time, ESPN is reporting that Penn State's "former defensive coordinator, Jerry Sandusky...was arrested Saturday on 40 charges that include felony sex crimes against children,".
I don't need to say that these are obviously despicable allegations, and if found guilty Sandusky should be punished to the full extent, but here's the thing; there have been police reports alleging this type of behavior on Sandusky's part since 1998. What took someone in an authority position thirteen years to finally do something about this? It's 40 charges. How many of those charges are for felony sex crimes against kids, who can say, but I know that thirteen years allow plenty of time for a man to commit the number of crimes that Sandusky is being charged with. He is obviously to blame if he is indeed convicted, but someone else dropped the ball here as well.
