SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
Recently I have been incredibly unimpressed with the radio music scene. Between Adam Levine stinking up the airwaves and Avril Lavigne crapping all over perfectly decent Rihanna songs, it's been a rough start to fall. However, there is one reason I am still listening to the radio in my car besides the fistpumping opportunities fromFriday/Saturday night dj mixes. Beyonce's love isn't just on top, so is she, with a bun in the oven and a fly new song permeating ear drums all over the world. If you haven't yet heard "Love on Top" please take a good long listen, even put it on repeat. I did.

This is the type of song I want to see Beyonce do more of, the style of music fits perfectly with her soulful voice and it's clear she loves singing it. You can hear the smile in her voice throughout the entire song, and when coupled with the cool jazzy beats and Jackson 5 vibe you have got yourself a winner. To quote my roommate, "I can totally hear a 10 year old Michael Jackson singing this," and that my dear Sumos is probably the highest compliment she can give.
I'm sick of Beyonce trying to do hip-hop dance jams like that garbage "Run the World (Girls)," although "Single Ladies" was obviously fly. I love her way more when she gets into her "Dream Girls" groove and puts soul into her music, and that is exactly what she has done here. I donno if it's the baby, or that she finally found her niche in the music world, but girl is on fire.
