SUMOskinny magazine is the ultimate guide to college life. Part local, part national, and all college.
Earlier this week General Mills pulled this commercial for their Yoplait Yogurt brand following complaints from the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) that the commercial promotes eating disorders:
While I am certainly not a fan of eating disorders, especially those that include excessive clean up, my main issue with this is how unrealistic the thought process featured in the commercial actually is. When I'm confronted with an entire cheesecake my thought process goes something like this:
"If I eat this entire cheesecake, does that mean I can't order wings later?"
or
"Uck, if I eat this entire cheesecake I'm probably going to have to stick to mixed drinks this weekend."
or
"Ooh breakfast."
I don't disagree with the decision to pull the commercial, but that has less to do with the fact that it's giving me an eating disorder and much more to do with the fact that I am now dying for a piece of raspberry cheesecake, not a gross yogurt.
Meet me at the CC Fac?
I thought general mills was cereal? They do cheesecake now too?
You know you are really thinking "Oh cheesecake! But if i eat this im gonna be sitting in the bathroom the whole night...."
Yogurt is gross
Not a big cheesecake fan... also the second girl was a little thin, I liked the glasses chick just the way she was
I hate frosting
+1 on the whips
Johnnie Cake?? Is this some kind of metaphor?
I've honestly never been a big fan of cheesecake
I used to love the whips
