Anti-Choice Extremist Seeking the Presidency

Randall Terry, a staunch pro-life advocate and certified crazy, is running for president in the upcoming election…as a Democrat.
As a fellow liberal, this guy grosses me out. To provide some background, Terry began his career as an anti-choice activist in the mid-80s when he founded Operation Save America (formerly Operation Rescue), an organization that opposes the legality of abortion by staging mass protests at abortion clinics. Protesting is one thing, but Operation Save America has expanded its outreach to mobilize the Christian right in opposing homosexuality, pornography, and Islam (in general, I guess). Don’t worry though! The group practices civil disobedience and is nonviolent, so it’s totally okay.

Randall Terry

I mean, just look at how peaceful Terry looks.

Anyway, Randall Terry headed the organization for a number of years, during which time he let the crazy loose and ran his mouth about his ill-formed beliefs. He claimed that abortion was murder and that it should be made a capital offense. In 2009, Terry criticized Notre Dame for inviting Obama to speak at the university’s commencement. Terry took issue with the fact that Notre Dame is one of the biggest Catholic colleges in the country and Obama is pro-choice.

Terry claimed that he was going to show up and make the ceremony “a circus.” He was promptly arrested however, almost as soon as he arrived on campus for violating a no-trespassing order. In fact, Terry is no stranger to the legal system seeing as how he’s been arrested over 40 times.

You know what, though? As a registered voter I can overlook all the indictments and court orders because he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Terry 2012!
