OH HELL NO! Rush Limbaugh talked about Michelle Obama's Let's Move campaign yesterday on his radio show. Limbaugh called the First Lady a hypocrite for advocating healthy eating after she was spotted eating ribs during a skiing holiday this past weekend. He then proceeded to say this about the country's favorite woman:
"The problem is...it doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice...I'm trying to say that our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimwuit Issue or a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you."
Okay, I don't even know where to start on this one. Let's make a list:
1.) Michelle Obama looks damn good for her age. She's (sorry Michelle) 47 and looking fierce! I assume, Rush Limbaugh, that Michelle has such a fantastic diet that she can afford to eat some ribs and still stay on track, especially if the family went skiing right after they ate.
2.) I take offense to line about women on the cover of Sports Illustrated/A-Rod's girlfriends. What makes Limbaugh think that every woman wants to be so rail thin that they could be put on the cover of the swimsuit edition? How is that a healthy projection for young girls? Clearly, he has a messed up view of the value of women, though I doubt anyone is surprised.
3.) Why is everyone all up on Michelle lately? First she gets bashed for wearing a McQueen dress at the China State Dinner and now this malarkey. Everyone back off the First Lady, she's doing a great job and she looks damn fine doing it.
