Britney, I'll Be Holding This Against You
Britney's new video for "Hold It Against Me" has dropped and I have to say I'm disappointed. Although I am feeling the beats she's bringing in her new song, the video didn't really reach my expectations.
This song was a pretty fabulous opportunity for my girl to get back to her roots and seduce us all with a twitch of her hips. Instead we were brought this catastrophic experiment in crappy editing.
There were a few hints of "...Oops I did it again" dance moves, but they were all covered up in flashing lights and quick jumps from the editing team. The jams this song packs were asking for a hot dance video with Britney's bare abs and smokey eyes. The body double fight scene would have been a lot more exciting if it had been sandwiched between great dance moves. Instead the video just distracted me from listening to the song.
Britney, next time go with what works and work your hips not the editing team.

I was so disappointed by the video. I got all excited because she kept teasing us for the past 2 weeks with clips. The concept didn't even make that much sense. I felt it would've been more dancing and no random televisions and her in a wedding dress. She looked amazing but that seemed to be the most work she really did for the video. The dancing was horrible...she knows how to move too. Maybe if she wasn't at Sonic every day eating a cheeseburger and actually took this seriously? I feel Britney can do whatever she wants like not dance and people will still be a fan of her. I am a fan of her music. But not her performances or videos.

You know what the more I think about it I'm pretty pissed about this. She didn't even try to dance in this video at all. At first I was like o damn, this video is really awkward cuz let's be real here, she looks super f*cking awkward just standing there singing and not dancing and I was like oh, she's old, she can't do what she used to do, but you know what? Fuck that noise. She's not that old, she's like prolly in her 30's right? She could dance a little harder than that if she really tried and wanted to, it's not like her hips gonna give out if she starts to pop-n-lock. I don't know if she thinks (knows) she's cemented herself in pop history (and our hearts) and that no matter what she does, we will all just buy her shit because we want her to be the pelvic gyrating hard body that we all fell in love with, but this is a load of bull. Seeing this video reminds me of her "Gimme More" performance at whatever MTV awards show that was when she came out looking more lit up than Joe Namath. It's a half assed job Britney, and it's not cool. I will no longer support your style because you were once a bad mama jama. This is the last steaming pile of shit video you will spoon feed me Spears.
Such a bummer! She looks great, but I couldn't pay attention with all of the cuts and different shots! I can't grasp the concept! Hahaha. I was expecting tons of dancing after reading she rehearsed weeks and weeks for this video! Oh, Britney!
